Hello!
My name is Luke Catania IV and I'm a Photography and Media graduate of Northern Virginia Community College. Photography wasn't my first choice when narrowing down my degree options, in fact, it was the third option in my head behind Culinary Arts. My first choice and childhood dream was anything that had to do with animals.
Growing up there was always one to two dogs in the family (we now have five; see below) which in turn helped me develop my love for animals. In my junior and senior years, at Thomas Edison HS, I took Veterinary Science in the academy and was looking into the Veterinary Technology program at NVCC. As you can tell, that obviously didn't work out as I had hoped. However part of me wants to possibly give it another try sometime in the future.
As of now, I have a few photography/videography job ideas in my head. One obviously has to do with animals, like household pets or even wildlife. Another is travel photography since I love traveling to and exploring new places. However, my biggest dream for this path is to become a Pro Sports Photographer. Specifically in the NHL, and if possible for the Washington Capitals, as I'm a HUGE fan and grew up watching them. I've also looked into snowsports since I love to ski and surf or shorebreak photography because of my love for the beach and ocean.
